"Batu Pahat" Batu Pahat by beetlebummer

Welcome to my secret (well now that I've mentioned it, it's not secret anymore is it?) hiding/getaway place. This is where I run to whenever I'm feeling so down or needed to just run away from the hustle and bustle of the city life. This big house located in the heart of Batu Pahat belongs to my relatives (mum's side). This house has been in existence since before the Japanese occupation. The Japanese soldiers even used this house as their office at one time during the occupation.

This house has received many international visitors, from Japan, Indonesia, Europe, Korea and Singapore. Mainly all find this house very interesting and unique (and they keep coming back). Well that is because not many of this kind of well kept, functioning kampung houses are still around. Thanks to my beloved and dedicated aunt and her children, this house survived the years. Also because of the warm and welcoming hospitality that my aunt and her family gave to all her visitors.

Gunung Sorga

This house is also located at the foot of a mountain, Gunung Sorga (gunung = mountain, sorga = heaven). For those who are adventurous enough, you are welcome to hike up the mountain. You can even see one of the look out point on the mountain from the verandah of the house.
