Things To Do: Cultural Activities in Old Bank
  • Tip Rating:
  • In the old building of "Banco Central de Reserva del Peru" there is a museum, where are organizated oll kind of cultural happenings, exhibitions, film presentations, money collections, etc.

In December 2006 there was a special exhibition: gold collection of Hugo Cohen. The guards were controlling so tightly that it was impossible to make photos inside, but the gold objects were incredible from many cultures. How the Spaniards could leave so much cold things there without melting and shipping to Spain!?

Upstairs there was a exhibition of independence time fine art.

Museos - Museums: Museo de la Inquisicion y del Congreso
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]
  • In this museo you may see the work of inqvisitors, not only here, but all over the catholic world. Inqvisitors were great inventors and appliers of all kind of torture methods, and their systems are still used all over the world. One specially used torturing device is a Garrotte, developed here by conquistadores. For example, Inka Atahualpa was executed by that device.

The ceiling of the inqvisition trial room is special. It has been made from 30000 wooden pieces.

After seeing all these torturing methods it's time to go to the nearby Chinatown restaurant for a lunch. Bon apetit!!!
