At daytime you may see demostrations every day. On Avenida Abancay that is a rule, because its close to the congress center, where the participants gather to. It is between Pla de Ajacusco and Pla Bolivar. But there are demostrations - or manifestacions (or marchas de congressos) as the locals speak - elsewhere many places. Also, religious processions take places time to time everywhere, but this is not happening only in Lima. |
| Pizarro Riding in a Corner of Plaza de Armas |
| | Poor Old Pizarro In this old postcard, the great old conqueror Francisco Pizarro still sits on his horse. But in 2003 the statue was fallen down by Luis Castaņeda, the mayor of Lima. There was not such a big fiesta as in Bagdad about the same time when Saddam Hussein's statue was destroyed. Pizarro was the leader of the gang who put all the necessary wisedom into the heads of Incas by sword and fire. |
