Vieques Travel Guide: 129 reviews and 164 photos

Just returned from a great vacation in Vieques......Stayed at the Wyndham Martineau Bay, pricey but worth it for our first trip to the Island. We felt very safe and secure coming into the gated compound each evening after spending long days tooling around the beautiful countryside and snorkeling as many beaches as possible. Next visit (and we will go back) we will probably venture into the laid back serenity of a local guest house like The Crow's Nest. They have a beautiful location mid-island and since a rental jeep is necessary, it is not necessary to have an "ocean-front room." Weather is interesting....little gloomy and drippy first 2 days but not enough to keep us in...really quite pleasant. The last 6 days were mostly sunny with only a few clouds. We welcomed the clouds as short respites from the blazing sun.

thanks for a helpful page. you'll probably never read this, lol, but it seems that no one on VT has been to PR since 2004. Is it because the dollar is still King in Central America, so many tourists have abandoned PR?

Thanks for the helpful tips, (especially about MN Aviation). I am just planning my trip, and was concerned about the packing issue. I'm going to visit their web site now.
