Travels with my daughter

by shirinyaisa - last update: Feb 18, 2005

Travels alone with my daughter

kids in marokko
Travels alone with my daughter

Ibiza ( she was 6 weeks old)

2x Dom. Rep ( she was 1 year and 3 years)

Zypern (she was 4 years)

Thailand (she was 6 years)

Marokko (she was 7 years)

Sri Lanka (she was 8 years)

Egypt (she was 8 years)

In the meantime, we went to italy, spain and france a lot of time for a couple of days

Fazit: it`s very easy to travel alone (mother and child) , if you are open-minded and open for foreign people and cultures.
Dom. Rep with my daughter

How to wake a childrens interest to travel???

If you want to travel relaxed with your child, you must start very early to talk with your child- depending on the age

Some examples:

Dominikanische Republik:( my daughter had have there her 3. birthday. )

I told her serveral weaks ago, that we will make a trip in the Dom. Rep. The people there would not be able to speak our language, so that is important, to know the "basics" in spanisch. She was very interested in learnig that words and terms.

Then, in the Dom. Rep. she tried to talk with the locals in spanish, for example: she ordered her fruit and cocosnutdrink by herself in spanish .So she got in contact with people, different people, and the locals loved her for speaking in spanish.

Thailand with her:
When I planned our trip to thailand, in the monsum time, I wondered, how to wake the interest of my daughter for the temples and buddahs in bangkok (we stood there for 4 days).

My idea:
I bought books with a lot of good pictures and let the books on the sofa. Without my direktion my daughter started to look a the pictures and started to ask me questions about it. I told her a lot and when she realized, that she will go to all these places, she was very happy.
Bangkok was great with my daughter!!!!!!

Let your child be in contact with local children

To develop a so called "open mind" its in my opinion important, that you allow your child to communicate with children from the whole world.

In Sri Lanka, my daughter got a close contact wih a local family and she enjoyed to be there.....

When the tsunami was, we stood in egypt and my daughter had a lot of fear because of our Srilanken friends. But, what a luck, all are still alive, but they have lost all .

My daughter wishs to visit our friends there in summer 2005....We will see......
My daughter with Masha
Let`s the children play
in Cairo, my daughter visited a place where the local children are playing.

She played with a school class and the lokal children and my daughter had have a lot of fun in trying to talk together.
