More Friggin Snow!!!!

Thaw out in Key West

The main reason I took my first trip to Key West was to escape the cold New England winter. The idea came on a cold day in January. The weather had beed cold, it had been from -5 to 10 degrees for about 10 days straight with wind chills around -25. I was sick of the snow and It was time to leave so what better place to go than the southernmost point in the United States.

The Flight Of The Silver Bird

Our Trip began in beautiful Warwick, Rhode Island at T.F. Green Airport. It's only 5 minutes from our house.

We flew Delta from Warwick to Atlanta then to Ft. Lauderdale. The trip was very smooth. I'd fly Delta again.
From snow to palm trees

Warm Breezes and Lazy Days

I've lived all my life in New England, and everyone knows that it gets cold in the winter. This is the main reason my wife and I planned this trip.

We left Rhode Island, and it was 31 degrees, which isn't bad, however our entire time in Florida it was in the upper 70's and low 80's.

We left winter wonderland for a tropical paradise

I love Key West, it's a very slow paced atmosphere.

I really can't say I didn't do anything in Key West. We sat around the porch at our guesthouse, we laid around the beaches, we hung out on Duval Street, and we drank alot of alcohol.

This is the perfect place to relax and get away from winter. I would advise that if the winter blues get you down visit Key West.

Excellent page! Brings back lots of wonderful memories of this funky town full of interesting characters. Wish I were in Maragaritaville right now.

OMG... How funny is it that I also took a picture of snowy New England on my way to Florida this past March too? It WAS a brutal winter, huh? Oops, just realized that you went LAST winter. Well, it's ALWAYS so damned cold up here!
