Fifth Avenue street fair, up to Central Park
New York has numerous weekend street fairs throughout the whole year. Sometimes a whole series of blocks is closed to all traffic.
Of course, in good weather, there's a guy at every corner selling something, but the street fairs are organized and varied, and the merchandise is better - there's also less street hawkers (selling counterfeit or fake merchandise, which is essentially illegal).
Address: Throughout NY, but mostly Manhattan
Directions: Check website of Mardi Gras Productions, the main organizer of New York street fairs.
