We arrived in Inle Lake from Yangon. After having been in crowded and dirty Yangon, Inle Lake was a welcome destination. The air was fresh and we were surrounded by green fields and rolling grass. Inle Lake is a popular tourist destination and it is easy to see why. Although popular, we did not feel that the place was over-run with tourists.
Taking a boat tour of the lake and biking around the town were two of the big highlights of Inle. The boat tour of the lake is a must. Seeing the villages that live on the lake was very interesting.
The people are very friendly in Inle. Everywhere you go you will see young children smiling, waving and saying "hello" to you. |
