Beach at Lombok

Officially Me

Hi,
Sorry if it seems that I never update anything here. Due to lot of works I have right now, I only open one website to put anything I have to say, including my own notes about my traveling days.

So, link yourselves directly to my site
Don't worry, though I host it in Japan, I write it in English. Thankie! ^_^

My traveling lists

I actually have visits some places and countries but need time to collect the photos coz i went there many years ago when digital photo are not present yet.

The country was S'pore, Thailand, Japan (3 months), Hongkong, Taiwan, USA (L.A & SF), Venezuela, China, Cambodia.

In Indonesia, I had travel to Banda Aceh (since I had lived in Lhokseumawe), Medan, Batam, Palembang, Bandung, Jogjakarta (Yogyakarta), Solo, Semarang, Surabaya, Bali, Lombok. And of course... I had travel inside Jakarta. X-D

Need Suggestion/question/help?

If you have question just ask it to me, I try my best to help :)
However, please specify your question. I can't answer a question like "Where's the best place to go in Jakarta?" This question seems too wide to answer. Better you tell me about your plan, something like these:
- go alone/family,
- backpacker/business/leisures,
- what kind of place you want to visit or your hobbies (sport place, adventure, historical place, family recreational place, etc)

Jakarta Jakarta

Jakarta is a crowded city powered by people who came from many different cultures. Living here, sometimes feel good, sometimes bad. Though I wasn't born here, now my life is here since '96. From doing crazy things at DUFAN, sadness year in Trisakti University 98, to the flood story (not in Bintaro! hahahaa), being an interior designer, being a graphic designer, being a writer, all things come and go here.

well, well, well... I sometimes only have little time to update, from blog to VT pages :D that's why I'd never write too long. If you want to see more pictures, go to My Album where I saved some traveling pictures and others there.

Useful Information about Jakarta

Jakarta24 --> last time I see this page, sounds that wasn't update yet. but many information about restaurants, bars, bookstore, etc are still useful.

Selatan Jakarta --> heheheh, this government website didn't support english. It is about tour around south Jakarta. but I think even you don't understand, you can guess some of them. the useful info: apartment address, wisata belanja (shoping-place), wisata alam (nature traveling), Kemang area, and wisata belajar (study-tour), hotel/motel address, tour & travel address, banking office, etc.

Jakarta Tourism --> government site about Jakarta. In English (^_^)

All about Food in Jakarta --> I made a list of food's name, restaurant/bar/cafe address.

More Info about INDONESIA (from Java to Lombok)

OK... this is actually my reply to a VT friend who sent me VT e-mail. I think, it's nice to share some of the information here..

hope, it's useful for you and the quote begins:

I'm doing traveling research on Java (especially Jakarta and Bandung). What I suggest here might be common place to see, but, it's popular to tourist. I don't know which place in Java you're going to go. but I start to list:

Jakarta/Bogor/Puncak:
- sport: at 1000 Islands (Pulau Seribu or Seribu Island) you can dive and swim. there's cottage so you can stay more than 1 day. at Ancol, you can play jetski.
- Bogor: go to Botanical Garden. If you're lucky, you can see Raflesia Arnoldi (biggest flower in the world but stinks, anyway..) blooms.
- Puncak: it's a high place. you can go trekking and else. you can also visit the tea plantanation.
- There's a river (quiet famous for rafting). I think it's located on Sukabumi. but I will tell u if i can get exact info.

Bandung and West Java area:
there are many spots here. I give you a link: Visit Bandung and Bandung Tourism

Jogjakarta & Solo & Central Java
- Borobudur (Buddha's temple) is a great place to go.
- Prambanan (Hindu's temple) is located before Borobudur if you go from Jogjakarta (some will write Yogyakarta). If you're "crazy" enough, you can rent bycicle. but please, survey first :D
- Keraton Jogja (Palace). located in Jogjakarta (city travel)
- Keraton Surakarta (Palace in Solo).
- you will mostly find batik and craft in both Solo and Jogjakarta
- Karimunjawa seems famous. but truly, I never heard about that before. *ashame*

For more places and details (including about Karimunjawa) to go in Central Java, I refer you to this address: Central Java Tourism and go to my page: Special Region Yogyakarta

East Java:
- Mount Bromo, of course! I dream to go there but uh... well, it's a beautiful place. you can see sun rise/sunset there. The place is unique coz there is alot of.. sand. And Hindu people made a temple, which make the bromo become more exotic.
- Malang (city). Nice place, famous for their fruits. There's a mount named Mt. Kawi but i don't know if people may climb it or not..

More info, I refer you to this site: East Java You can get info about Ijen Crater, Bromo, Rafting at Pekalen River.

Bali:
In Bali, there are lots to do. Rafting, diving, biking, surfing, hiking, trekking, kayaking. Just called. If you want something "different" to do, you can try to do rice plantation. Lembongan Island and Penida island are famous for sea activities. And maybe you can go to Mt. Agung and surround area. There's a lake there.

Lombok/West Nusa Tenggara:
- Senggigi. Senggigi beach is sooo beautiful. Not alot people come to Lombok, so it's not as crowded as Bali.
- for diving, swimming, best views are located in small islands: Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno, and Gili Air.
- for trekking and hiking, go to Sembalun (starting point of Mt. Rinjani), Mt. Rinjani, and Senaru waterfall. I never went there coz I only have 3 days 2 nights in Lombok. And i'm not experience on trekking *sigh* so i can't climb! I had a brochure but seems the website had 'died'. But it takes 4 days for trekking to Mt. Rinjani from start to go back.

You can also go to Sumbawa Island (next from Lombok) and go to Mt. Tambora, Moyo Island Reserve, Bima (city).

I refer you to this site: Endonesia Info It's a bunch link of lombok websites.

J-Culture, Everyone?

Ever heard these terms: J-pop, J-rock, J-dorama, J-fashion, anime, harajuku, samurai, ninja, rakugo, edo? Yes, that's all refer to Japan. I love everything about Japan. From music to movie, from history to lifestyle. However, my knowledge about them is still nothing so I start collecting information and store it in forum style. Maybe it will take a slow progression since I'm busy doing other thing. But I hope it can survive. Anyone who willing to contribute information or even only read, I would appreciate it a lot (^o^)

The 'beta' version is online now though I still struggle with the system. This is the link: Bushido Nindo
