  • I enjoyed just walking around town, both by myself and with part of a tour group, looking at the city which was obviously not originally built to accommodate motor vehicles.
I enjoyed the juxtaposition of the old and the modern, the things that spoke of real life to someone who felt too much of a "tourist". Next time I return I want to stay closer to the heart of Puerta Vallerta.

    Sightseeing: Jungle tour
  • Tip Rating:
  • A day-long bus tour, which included walking around Puerta Vallerta with a charming guide talking about history and such is something I would really recommend.
We also drove out into the jungle a ways where you could go hiking, swimming or have lunch. It was just after the rainy season and pretty muddy to go hiking, and I had a great seafood plate (everything seemed so fresh) lunch under a thatched restaurant there. (I can't remember the name)

It's not likely I'll ever go there so thanks for the virtual tour. Sounds like a lively and interesting place.

How lucky to have friends with a timeshare here! Sounds like you had a really nice time. I've always liked Mexico, although I haven't made it to Puerto Vallarta yet.

It seems that you had a great time in PV! Very brave of you to venture out of the safe 'tourist world' too, it is not easy to do when you do not have much experience with such things!
