Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah. - Savannah

Its series of towns squares gives Savannah a special charm. I remember warm pleasant days, and sitting on a bench people watching.
Of course we read what is known as "The Book" in Savannah and had a lot of fun taking the "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil Tour" (there's even a shop of souvenirs based on the book) as well as a seperate trolley tour around the city. We took a day trip drive to Hilton Head one day, but enjoyed our time in the city more.
This was the second half of a trip with my high school/traveling friend Marilyn, with whom I'm now planning a trip to London.
My son Matt had an emergency appendicitis operation a few days before I left, and he was recuperating with some good friends at home. We'd been planning this trip forever, and I decided I could live with the guilt. I enjoyed my time in the South immensely, and my son was happy to have something he could hold over my head the rest of my life.

Savannah is everything you expect a southern city to be. I hav enot been there recently but really like the city. I think I would enjoy the book tour.

Elane, an excellant account of your experiences in Savannah! Thanks for the little tour - I've stayed overnight a couple of times on long drives from Canada to Florida but never had the chance to properly experience this great 'southern' city!
