Loveland Pass

It's easy to reach high altitudes on this drive up to Loveland Pass. This is where you can see the Continental Divide and a great view of Summit County. Oh yeah, you can ski there too.

Continental Divide

It's probably a cheesy thing to do, but if you're from the East, it's a great photo op. A great place to cross the divide is Loveland Pass in Summit County. The day I drove up there was cold and windy but the sky was perfectly clear and the sun was beginning to set. The only sign of life I saw was a fox trotting by with something in his mouth - probably a fresh kill.
It was pretty cold when I got to the top - about 12,000 feet - but the view was great and there was the sign for the Divide!

Directions: Take hwy 6 east out of Silverthorne, around Lake Dillon, past Keystone and keep going until you get to the top. You can't miss it. The ride down the other side is interesting too.
