A Gem

I was impressed by Castletown to me it still as that old charm not caught up in the modern rat race.
The town is quite senic with its old harbour the town square narrow streets and the castle still intact and working open to visitors.

I Liked the small shops no big electrical or diy stores. There are two small supermarkets. The shop keepers are friendly. There are not many restaurants but a Chiness take away a good butchers shop and a few cafes.

Also famous now for motor bike racing the Billown race last of the TT races starts from Castletown. There are other races held here over the summer months. The southern 100 is in july?.

If I was to return to the I O M I would go back to Castletown.

The Town Square

This is the main area entrance to the castle plus the narrow streets leading of the square were most of the shops are and take aways ect.

Railway Station

I O M famous railway stops a runs from Castletown. You can go to Douglas and the other way to the west coast of the Island.
