originally these two buildings were planned to be joined together above the road. But the money had been embezzled....... before the buildings were finished so they simply couldn`t finish them.... and that building would have been called Puerta de Europa....

This temple was a present from egyptian gouverment for Spanien (1960) You can see this temple in Parque del Oeste. I was not inside, before it is open to 18, and I was there afternoon. In this park there is too a terrace and you can enjoy excellent view of Madrid`s panorama. This is very nice to make a walk there and look for great palmtrees or oleanders.

in front of this building there is the sculptur of Velazquez..... There are in exposition 2000 pictures. There are of cours very wealthy colloection of spanish painting. You can see here the pictures of Goya, Velazquez, Ribera, Murillo, El Greco, Zurbaran and many more.The italian painting represent among others: Tizian, Veronese, Tiepolo, Fra Angelico, Botticelli, Tintoretto, Caravaggio, Rafaello... The french - Poussin, Lorrain, Watteau..... The another great masters wich works can you admire are: Rubens, Bosch, Rembrandt, Cranach, Duerer, Brueghel, Teniers, Van Dycke.......and many more.... one day this is too little time to see all....

The monument of Cervantes and Don Kichote on his Rosinand and Sancho Pansa on his donkey. On the one hand - Dulcinea-Ideal, on the other side - Dulcinea-Countrywoman. Behind - Edificio de Espagna. Plaza de Espagna is one the most importants communication junction in Madrid. And this is too a very popular meetings place. There are some beautiful fontains. Ypu can rest here of the city in the green.

The street behind Retiro Park. I don`t know what for a building it is, but the architecture is great. Before this must be a mosque, it looks so and now may be a church?

This Neogothic Cathedral is located opposite to main entrance of Palacio Real ( Royal Palace). The building of this cathedral lasted above 100 years (1883-1993). Inside can you see the pictures from XVI century - Virgen de la Almudena and from XII century - Virgen de la Flor de Lis. The picture Virgen de la Almudena is renowned for many miracles. Don`t miss the beautiful stained glass windows. You can see the great panorama for La Almudena from the terrace in Parque Oreste.
