The staff at this hotel were very pleasant.
Our room was...terrible. We were in the attic so-to-speak and the one dormer window was so high up that we could just peak out and see the roof of the building across the street.

The beds were...okay....the decor was...non existant. The amenities...what amenities?

The free breakfast...was fairly good.

You know I really don't like to write bad reviews about the place - YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! And this place was worth every penny I spent and not a cent more.
It's a good cheap and clean hotel if that's what you're looking for.

Unique Qualities: What was unique was that the staff accidentally gave our room away while we were in Salzburg and when we came back they were booked solid. So the lovely staff sent us to the sister hotel. Hotel Mate...and...gave us a huge suite at no extra cost!

Now that's what I call UNIQUE!!

The Hotel Mate is the sister hotel to the little Hotel Mate Dependance. And have you ever noticed that when you meet two sisters, one's usually nicer than the other...well this one was much nicer than the Hotel Mate Dependance.
The Hotel Mate is not the Ritz! Saying that it is better than the Mate Dependance is NOT saying alot!

The hotel is still a bit crumbly but the beds are very comfortable!

Apart from the screaming and screaching children that were in the room above us...and us...too Canadian to complain...just jammed pillows over our heads...anyway apart from that...it was a massive room and very comfortable.

This hotel is right on a main street which makes taking buses and taxi's a lot easier.

Unique Qualities: It was Unique because we didn't actually pay to stay here.
