Cafe Bogner
Cafe Bogner is a friendly little cafe located on the courtyard of hotel Iron Gate. It is a pleasant ,quiet place with pretty peach colored interior. They serve a selection of salads, sandwitches, icecreams, crepes, drinks etc. and also fondues in the evenings.
The great thing about the menu is that you get to choose all the things you want for your dish. They have this system 1+2+3 where you choose 1 item from the first chapter, 2 from the second and 3 from the third. This way you can completely decide what you want to eat and what not. The portions are very big and the food tasty.
Service is nice and friendly and prices very reasonable.

Restaurant Vino di Vino
This Italian restaurant is an excellent place to sample different wines. They have over 250 Italian wines to choose from and also a good portion of them is available by glass too. They have wine sampler menus available and you can choose from white wine, red wine or a combination. To accompany your wine you can choose from their Italian dishes and I can especially recommend the cheese plate, yummy!
This restaurant also organizes cooking courses, wine tastings and specific wine dinners. You can also purchase their wines, pasta and other Italian delicacies to take home.
Service was friendly and unhurried. Definitely a nice place for a glass of delicious wine or a full meal.

Sarah Bernhardt restaurant
We had a fabulous Sunday brunch in this fantastic restaurant. The restaurant is very beautiful and the whole hotel is considered as a great example of Art Nouveau style in Prague. Service was fantastic, but you would also expect that in a restaurant of a 5* hotel.
The buffet was delicious. There was everything from sushi and beautiful apetizers to goulash, chicken, smoked pork, polenta, potatoes etc. to delicious desserts like chocolate mousse, fruits and sacher cake on offer. Everything was good, a bit too good, because we could hardly move after we'd finished.
When we arrived we were offered a sparkling welcome drink and the price of the brunch (890 crowns p.p.) included unlimited wine, beer and softdrinks, oh and coffee too. I don't only mean regular coffee but you could choose for example a latte. And you didn't have to refil your wine glass yourself but it was served to you as soon as your glass started getting on the empty side. Very stylish.

U Modre Kachnicky II
U Modre Kachnicky is a beautiful, romantic restaurant filled with old world charm and located on a quiet old town street. We had a 3-course dinner included in our hotel package and we were so delighted to find out that the dinner was in this restaurant. We got to choose from 5 different set menu alternatives, which all sounded good.
The starters were delicious and my potato and mushroom soup came traditionally in a bowl made of bread. My mum had duck and venison patees, which according to her were very tasty. For main course I had duck, very juicy and tender and came with tasty side dishes and was beautifully presented. Mum had deer and liked it very much too. As a dessert I had an apple/cottage cheese strudel and mum had plum dumplings. Couln't fault them either and they were great because they weren't overly sweet.
With 2 glasses of sparkling wine, 2 big glasses of Czech white wine and a bottle of water, our bill was 610 crowns. The total bill would have been 2110 crowns, the set menus costing 750 each. Not bad for such a fantastic meal in such a beautiful surroundings. Ok, I know it was expensive by Prague standards, but not otherwise. Definitely worth every crown.

Ambiente Pasta Fresca
I have found my favorite restaurant of all times. This place is a gem. The food is delicious and the service is best that I've ever experienced. So friendly and smiling but still very professional. Ambience is nice too, good for all kinds of situations, and the prices are really reasonable.
I visited this restaurant for the second time in March 2006 and I still love it. The service is as great as before and the food delicious. And even though this place is right in the middle of old town and the tourist zone, this excellent restaurant is popular with both locals and tourists. The restaurant has been full every time I've visited so it is a good idea to book a table.
Favorite Dish: For a starter the Bruschetta with aubergine, tomatoes and mozzarella was ooooh so good. I've never liked aubergines before. Their mixed apetizer plate is also excellent.
As for the main course, my favorite was rigatoni with parma ham. Also the gnocchi with parma ham was good as well as the steaks. I'm sure whatever you choose, you can't go wrong. In 2006, I chose tagliatelle al ambiente, a pasta with chicken, lime, parmesan and cream and it was fantastic.
And for dessert, try the chocolate fondues: milk, white, dark or baileys. It comes with mixed fruits, but it is also possible to choose, what you'd like for example half banana/half strawberries.
They also have a really good and long wine list.

Good option for breakfast. They have everything from eggs and bacon to filled bagels and bottomless coffees and soft drinks. Also good for takeaways from morning till late in the evening. They have internet access as well. This is the only place we visited where don't expect to be served with a smile.

U Sadlu is a comfy, kind of medieval themed cellar restaurant, popular with both locals and tourist. It serves mainly Czech food with interesting names like Mourning or Stuffed Monk's Pocket and it all comes with a friendly service. They didn't have an English menu, when we visited, but the waiter was very helpful. Prices were reasonable and you certainly didn't leave feeling still hungry.
Favorite Dish: Chicken breast baked with peach and a chease topping was really delicious.

A pleasant cellar restaurant serving Italian food with reasonable prices. They have an amazingly long list of homemade pastas. Something for everyone. They also have nice wines and desserts. There is also a more fancier restaurant and a garden restaurant on site.
