A city full of life

by Blondiina - last update: Jun 5, 2007

Petronas Twin Towers
Full of sights and full of life. Shop in huge modern malls or haggle in night markets. Tranquillity, relax in the middle of it all in KLCC park. Sample local food from hawker stalls or dine in a glitzy international restaurant. Let the sun caress your body and the night hold you in its warm embrace. Loose your heart and come back to find it.
Chinese Temple
My first impression of Kuala Lumpur and of Malaysia as a matter of fact was: “Man, its hot in here!”. But that reaction didn’t come as a surprise as the temperature was well below zero when we left Finland. My eyes were big as plates as I look through the bus windows on our way from the airport to KL.

From the first moment on, I thought KL was wonderful. It had everything: skyscrapers and traditional Malay buildings, lots of different people, inexpensive and delicious food, shopping and an interesting mix of cultures. And of course this lovely hot and humid climate. But I have to admit it took quite a lot of getting used to, since it was my first time in a tropical country.
Jalan Alor
Even though we were there to look at what attractions KL had to offer, we seemed to be quite a sight ourselves. Two different groups of people wanted to have their picture taken with us while we were at KLCC park. We were tall and pale so its kind of understandable, but it was funny though.

KL seemed very safe to us. I have never before felt so safe in such a big city. Well, we didn’t walk on quiet and dark side alleys, but the general impression still was very safe. And there were quite many police officers on foot around, at least in the Golden Triangle area.
