Not just I live here...

... I was born in this city. Some people say it was built on the marsh and on blood. Neither is a great thing when isn't used properly. So some people would say it's pretty challenging to live here. Honestly I don't know. When I'm walking in the down town area I can feel some kind of energy from previous generations. They actually gave this city all the beauty it still has and reason for going on with life.
I wouldn't say this city is particulary foreigners friendly but people you don't get scary to meet make all the difference. Please don't be afraid of people even if they look starange - you never know. At the same time please be very careful with your valuables. Try to find your balance anyway. As much you "put" into people you meet in this city that much you will "get" out of your time in St-Petersburg.
