I write this as a raving heterosexual, but really that’s not the issue. If you find yourself in the city over pride weekend then you simply have to hang around to watch the parade and sample the vibrant carnival atmosphere throughout the city. I guarantee you won’t find a more diverse, embracing, wonderfully outrageous and colourful celebration anywhere on the planet. It doesn’t matter who you are, where you’re from – SF Pride celebrates tolerance, diversity and humanity; long may it endure.

The SF MoMA is definitely worth a visit even if you're not usually someone who takes in galleries. The fabulous architecture of the complex itself and the striking design of the entrance hall are stunning to take in even before you begin to take in any of the world-class collection or travelling exhibits. Never mind what any of the 'arterati' may comment on pieces as they breeze past you in the galleries, it's what art means to the individual, and you could easily spend a whole day mesmerised in here.

By global standards it's a fairly modest bridge with it's statistics. But astride the entrance to the Bay Area, resplendent in its golden coat and caressed by the area's thick fog banks it's a stunning sight year-round. It's the landmark you'll always look for in the area but also one from which you'll get a stunning view of the city and surrounds. Do make a detour to drive over it but if at all possible park up, or just head on out there by foot, and walk over to the other side and back for a memorable experience.

Snipernurse Wed Jun 4, 2008 09:38 UTC Why leave a political opinion on a travelogue site? Log onto a political opinion site and leave this kind of stuff | ascrodin Sun Nov 18, 2007 02:46 UTC I always thought it was 'San Jo-quin', and the actor was "Jo-quin" Pheonix. | sunlovey Thu Jun 22, 2006 13:37 UTC re: your album here.
