I’m going to be controversial.
At first, I hated Krakow.
“Good god, why?!” I hear you all shout. Well, I’d just travelled in by train from a lovely little town in Eastern Poland called Lublin, well off the beaten track and devoid of the hordes of tourists I encountered upon arrival. The bustle, the noise, the westerners; everything I’d been so glad to get away from just felt so garish and jolting to the senses following a few peaceful days in the hinterland. My first hostel night was nothing to write home about either, but that’s a completely different story entirely. |
|  | But first impressions are often wrong... Venturing out early the next day, with less sleep than I wanted but bright and sound of mind I set around the city.
I returned that night, utterly seduced by Krakow. Her gorgeous architecture, neighbourhoods, people and food mesmerised me within hours. |
