‘The Lamp’ may look like your typical northern pub from the outside (save for the bright neon sign), but inside is nothing of the sort. Run by the same team who own the equally buzzing 'Peaberries' coffee house and 'Pave' bar, 'The Lamp' is a seriously funky joint in the evening and also perfectly placed as a launchpad to the renowned 'Welly' club just over the road. Instead of the usual ubiquitous piped chart-dance you get in most city bars around these parts, here seriously talented DJ's spin all manner of beats, and there's regular live performances by local bands of various genres. Great decor, and an affable, hip crowd make this an essential option for any decent night out in the city.
