I had just one day stay in Beijing between flights... and I was so sorry I could not stay longer.
Of course I tried to visit the main places: the Forbidden City and Tiananmen (Square of Celestial Peace) of historic interest. I had also some time to spend in the Perl Market for buying souvenir and stuff... and of course tried to feel the city's atmosphere by simply taking a taxi and being driven thru the city.
Since I moved to China, I had no opportunity at all to visit Beijing again. Fortunately this week was a good one and we could take it off to visit the city again.
If you spend here more time, you will then discover how friendly chinese are, how beautiful the city and its parks are and also have the chance to see/visit the Great Wall, which may be a "dream destination" to most of people.
Enjoy my visit...

I remember Paulaner, McDonalds and the people playing their music. It seems, that not as much changes as some people want to tell me. I have to see it myself soon! Have not been in China since 5 years.
I remember Donghuamen Yeshi and wangfujing very well. fried scorpions and seahorses! Did you try any hot pot restaurants in Beijing?

Any tips on chinese food? As this is our first chinese city to visit we would like to eat chinese. The american stuff we can get everywhere........... ;-)
