As I lived in Munich, one of my preferred weekend trips was to take the train to Garmisch-Partenkirchen and to try to learn how to ski.
Unfortunately we brazilians are not raised on skis or snowboards, so it is kind of an awkward experience to watch us learning to ski.
But Garmisch-Partenkirchen is not only about skiing: it is a romantic alpine town.
- Pros:Beautiful landscape and ski centre
- Cons:Kind of expensive (at least for me then, a mere student)

A very user-friendly town to learn to ski in. My learn-to ski area as well. And the hiking is some of the best in Germany!
it is expensive, but worth it ^..^lovely page
