Meeting the gods

Aztecs & Pyramids

Me and the monstruous Sun Pyramid.
When visiting Mexico, you must visit Teotihuacán. Located near Mexico City, it is a must-see of Human History and Architecture.

I remember quite well the sensation of seeing such collossal pyramids and extremely large places: simply b-r-e-a-t-h-t-a-k-i-n-g!

This planned city build around the time of Christ was the religious centre in the Mexican highlands. It developed over time to what was believed to be the sixth largest city in the world on the 4th century. Its sudden fall on the seventh century as well as the ethnic groups who inhabited it are still a mystery.

If you have the luck of being there in such a nice day, you saved your day!

First this site was not built by Aztecs. Aztec did know this place, they thought it was built by Gods. It is possible to find original artifacts, you will have to be experienced and ask for originals. Happy travels, geokid

Good food warning and tourist trap warning. The Sun Pyramid looks awesome. The Moon Pyramid, Ave. of the Dead, and Ceudadela are seem so exotic. Great work and fine photos to accompany your astutue narrative.
