Stockholm is just like you could imagine Sweden would be: well organized and a calm city.
I stayed then in the Af Chapman Youth Hostel, which is a ship in front of the Gamla Stan isle. The view is great, specially at the end of summer.
You can use metro, bus or simply your feet to reach the various interesting places in Stockholm.
Specially worthseeing are the Gamla Stan and Royal Palaces, city centre, Skansen, Skeppsholmen, a tour on the Mälaren lake and maybe (if you have extra time) some tours outwards (visiting the Royal Palaces outside the city).
