Morretes means train trip and "Barreado"

by ahoerner - last update: Jul 31, 2004

Nhundiaquara river in downtown Morretes.
Morretes is an old colonial town near the atlantic shore in the State of Parana.

It can be reached either by train or by car/bus taking the Graciosa Road from Curitiba. And both are unforgettable trips...

Morretes means for most of the "curitibanos" weekend trip to have a great barreado lunch and spend some calm time in its beautiful sites.

There are some historical buildings in the main street, which leads you to the main restaurants and squares. Pick yourself a nice table with view to the Nhundiaquara river and that's it... enjoy!

I really miss it...

This place sounds great - is it far from Camboriu? Maybe we should really do that train trip from Curitiba, though we will be driving around by car there.
