The first thing that would strike you about the Colisseum is the size of it. In the pictures, it looks reasonably big, but you feel the grandeur of it as your walk out of the Colloseo Metro Train Stop and come face to face with it. Inside the colisseum there are two tiers. When you walk around the upper tier, you could see how big and captivating it is. To enjoy the full spectacle of Colliseum, walk around slowly stopping every few yards and take in the brilliance of the architecture of yesteryears. Colliseum is very well served by Rome's public transportation (Stop : Colloseo on Blue Line...Line B). The Blue Line runs from Rebibbia to Laurentina.

Vatican City, the residence of the Pope is one of the most crowded tourist attractions in Rome. The sistine chapel is probably the most famous attraction inside the Vatican palace. Michelangelo's masterpiece adorns the ceiling inside this chapel and rumors have it that this is bullet proof to protect this priceless treasure from any damage of the extreme variety. There is also an entrance fee (8 Euros) to go to the top of the dome from where you can get a magnificient view of the Vatican city. The stairs to the top are very narrow and at times very slanting making it very difficult to climb. Many people get dizzy for lack of air and the slightly claustrophobic atmosphere of the staircase and so caution is recommended when climbing up, particularly for elderly people. The Vatican has its own postoffice and is considered one of the most efficient one. It also has its own stamps that are not valid from other parts of Italy. Stamps bought at other post offices are NOT valid when you mail your postcards from Vatican post office. Give yourself atleast a full day to go through Vatican at a leisurely place.

Perhaps the most famous man made water fountain is Trevi Fountain in Italy. The architecture and sculpture of this fountain is really grand that makes a visitor to perk up and watch it closely. Trevi is crowded almost all the time but the best time to visit it is probably after sunset. The fountain is lit and the lighting provides a romantic atmosphere. It is very difficult to get a good whole picture of Trevi because its is a bit closeted and there is not much space to move further backward to get the whole fountain in a pic. One of the most common things that people do in Trevi is making a wish and throwing coins into the fountain. Now I am sure its more for fun that truly believing in the wishes coming true.

The Spanish Steps near the Trevi fountain is famous more for spotting teenage hopefuls finding their perfect lovematch than for anything else. It is also a nice place to sit and relax when the sun's rays are not powerful enough to scorch one's sitting area (hmm.. is there a better term to describe ??). It is indeed very crowded in the evenings and you can find many teenage romantics with roses in their hands trying to spot their goddess of love. All in all, it is indeed a very nice place to relax and see romance blossom !!
