Uxmal [pronounced somewhat like Ushmal] is a very nice site, a little far from Cancun to go up and down in 1 day, but I guess it can be done. Because of this location a bit further away from the tourist resorts, it is less crowded than for example Chichen Itza. |

|  | The buildings are not all built on the same level, which gives you excellent opportunities for nice overviews and snapshots. The Pyramid of the Magician (a.k.a. Pyramid of the Dwarf) can no longer be climbed, but there is another pyramid from which you have an excellent overview of the site INCLUDING the Pyramid of the Magician, so that's even better. Walking here really gave me that Mayafeeling. |
