There won’t be many people who disagree that once in your life you should have seen the wonders of ancient Egypt! Pyramids, temples, tombs, the Nile valley and the desert makes this country a unique place. Although the country is rather big, the major tourist highlights are all located in a more or less straight line along the river Nile. As a result is it not very difficult to combine these highlights in a single trip. This is also the reason why I decided to create a single Egypt page instead of separate pages for each location.

Most first time visitors will try to see it “all” or at least as much as possible. So did we. We squeezed the entire package (from Cairo in the north to Aswan and Abu Simbel in the south) in one week and added an extra week of relaxing in Hurghada on the Red Sea coast.

Locations that we visited during our trip are: Luxor, Esna (Isna), Edfu (Idfu), Kom Ombo, Aswan (Assuan), Abu Simbel, Cairo, Giza, Saqqara and Memphis.
