Anybody who knows the US a bit, also knows that Yosemite National Park is one of the most popular and diverse NP's of the States.
This park, with Yosemite Valley as its heart, has so much to offer. Huge rock formations like El Capitan and Half Dome, beautiful waterfalls (some of the tallest in the world), giant Sequoia trees, forests, lakes, bears (when you are lucky, we didn't see any), etc.
One warning for those of you who don't bother to read my tips. Bear in mind that all the great waterfalls in the park turn dry during the summer. So if you come here for the falls, come before the second half of July or so.
Final remark. Close to the east entrance (Tioga Pass), outside the park, you can find Mono Lake. This is absolutely not to be missed. Check my Lee Vining page for more details on this. |
