When you are in Palm Springs, you really are in the middle of the desert. Nevertheless, the town is a very comfortable and modern one, with Palm Canyon drive as the main road through the town center. Important landmarks are the enormous amount of windmills, outside the town, and Mount San Jacinto, where an aerial tramway will take you to the top. However I must admit that the town itself might be little attractive to young travellers. Palm Springs aims at people who want a laid back time in a nice climate. Playing some golf, and spending some time by the pool. |
Palm Canyon If this is not your idea of the perfect holiday experience. Use the time you have at Palm Springs to visit Palm Canyon. Palm Canyon is a very nice oasis in the middle of the rocky desert. Filled with palm trees, it is a great opportunity to hike a bit along streams and in the shadow of the trees. |
