Marseille is one of the largest cities of France. An industrial porttown and home to lots of northafrican (poor) immigrants, this might not sound as a pretty tourist destination. However, Marseille has enough to offer to keep you entertained for 1 or 2 days.

Centre of the city is the old port - Le vieux port. Bear in mind that this is not the most ideal city to visit by car. But driving and parking close to the city centre isn't that much of a problem.

Best thing to do is to first pay a visit to the Office de Tourisme, the tourist office, which can be found at the end of La Canebière, the main shopping street of Marseille, close to the old port. Get yourself a tourist map here to help you out finding everything you want to see.
