"Honey Moon? dont miss this place!" Dehra Dun by Muraalee

Mussoorie is at 6000ft near Dehra Dun. You can see Mussoorie right up on the hill from Dehra Dun. As you climb, the sights are just spectacular. You also have a waterfall called Kempty Waterfall nearby. Mussoorie has lot of hotels and budget accomodations from Rs.150/- (offseason) onwards. Dharmasalas (Charity accomodations) are ok for a brief break but aren't kept so clean.
Tourists can also prefer to accommodate at Dehra Dun and drive up to Mussoorie. There a lot of buses, private vehicles -- share jeeps .aka. 4WD, taxis as well. Local buses cost only Rs.20/-. The steep hill with hair-pin bends gives one a real rollercaster drive from experienced drivers. These drivers seem so much used to the usual route up or down the hill. Also, If you like you could trek down the hill to Dehra Dun which is about 4 hours. Actually, Dehra Dun is now (From 2003) part of the newly formed state Uttar Anchal. CAUTION: I stayed at 'Hotel Shiva Palace' (Rs.250/- per night pp)..Beware of the promised facilities before you check-in and do not pay your money already before checking the room thoroughly (Toilet, Flush, Broken windows,..) . The Western toilet of the room was leaking. Also boot marks on the seat?!. When reported, they least bothered to repair/clean the seat or even to change my room. And bluntly the manager said, they were not going to return my money.. Alas! It was only fifteen minutes after check in and still was only humiliated with words; 'Go to Dharmasala -aka- charity organisations' if you do not have any more money left on you.
