  • I have been living in Devonport 16 years and I can tell you Devonport is the place to visit!

Devonport, is situated on the northern shores of Auckland City. The gateway to North Shore City and the sandy beaches of East Coast including Takapuna, Browns Bay and Mairangi Bay.

A charming historic seaside village, with a unique heritage, wide range of restaurants, cafes, beaches, art galleries, shopping and very friendly locals.

Devonport is one of the earliest areas of European settlement, dotted with numerous turn-of-the-century villas and dwellings, visitors can admire the colonial timber architecture and walk along the streets of enchanting homes.

The Royal New Zealand Navy still has its national base here and their museum is open daily for public viewing.

From North Head and Mt Victoria, you can enjoy the spectacular breath-taking views of the city and the surrounding Hauraki Gulf islands.

Blessed with safe, white sand beaches, devonport is the perfect place to spend a day at the beach or why not indulge yourself with the international cuisine available from the over 30 different cafes and restaurants. It is here you can relax and enjoy the friendly village atmosphere.

Popular annual events are the Wine & Food festival in February and the annual Arts Festival. Every month a craft market is held.

Don't miss a visit to Whites Dairy - Vauxhall Rd near Church Street for New Zealand's largest ice creams.

Devonport can be reached by a regular ferry which departs from downtown Auckland, and travels directly to Devonport. The ferry ride is only 10 minutes (half hourly service) or by car it takes 20 minutes to Auckland City
    centre.

There is also the Devonport Tour Company which can give you an awesome look at awesome Devonport and they can be reached here : http://www.devonporttours.co.nz/

THE VIEWS FROM MOUNT VICTORIA, ARE VOTED THE BEST IN AUCKLAND.

    Enjoy this awesome seaside village!!!!
