1995

We went to Costa Rica in 1995. We had done a little research before our trip, but not a lot. We decided to just wing it for a few days in San Jose, and then rent a van and driver around the country -- literally! We took a lot of photos, but unfortunately we were robbed and most of our developed film was taken with the rest of the haul. But we had a couple of rolls that were spared.

The Country

Map

San Jose is where most people begin their adventures, and we weren't and different. Located in the middle of the country on a high plain, it's a good take-off point from which to visit other parts of the country.

This is one of the few times I've travelled with friends. It's so hard to find people who have time off from work at the same time you do. But fortunately Dale, Larry and me were able to arrange our schedules to make it happen.

Pros and Cons

Pros:A beautiful, tropical paradise!
Cons:Thieves downtown!
In a nutshell:An entire worlds worth of beauty in one country.

It's on my list! How come you got stuck with the cleaning and cooking? Ya know, when you start sauteeing the tuna, you kinda have to go with fish tacos rather than sashimi! Good save there!
