The Dai-Ichi Hotel is a nice and clean hotel with a good location. From the city station and the shopping arcade, it is only a 5-10 minutes walk, or you can take the tram stopping directly in front of the hotel. The rooms are not very big (which is normal in Japan) but comfortable and nicely furnished. As usual, tea and coffee cooking facilities are furnished as well as several bathroom accessories.
I would not book the room with breakfast included, though, as it is not very satisfying for westerners, there are many cafés anyway where you can also get sandwiches, muffins, etc.
Unique Qualities: From our room we looked on the canal in front of the Shiroyama Park, the cherry trees lining the canal and the Matsuyama castle on the hill.
The bathroom was provided with one of the modern Japanese toilets that spray water and have a heatable toilet seat. Funny thing!
