Exploring jungle temples

Ta Prohm really creates the feeling of being the first to discover this jungle temple. Large trees spread their roots over and under the stones. This is one of the largest sites at Angkor and was built in the mid-12th century to early 13th century.

The smile of Angkor

The Bayon temple is in my opinion one of the most beautiful temples. The four smiling faces on each tower are said to be images of King Jayarvarman VII. It is located in the centre of Angkor Thom, is a buddhist monument and was built in 12th - 13th century. Over 200 faces have been carved on the 54 towers.
