Oliver St John Gogarty's: Original Irish Stew
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]

  • Restaurant Name: Oliver St John Gogarty's

This is a very popular place and always crowded. A very nice interpretation of a 19th century pub with well chosen artifacts from the earlier period. If you want to have your lunch a bit more quietly, then head to the first floor, there are normally some free tables left.

Favorite Dish: I had to try of course the Irish Stew, which was really good. Sven had stuffed turkey and ham with vegetables which was also good. Together with the Stew you can also get potatoes or chips and salad or vegetables, so if you are not too hungry, it might be a good thing to share one meal with another person, the servings are huge!

Chai-Yo Asian Restaurant: Great mixture of Japanese, Chinese and Thai food
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]
  • Satisfaction:
  • Restaurant Name: Chai-Yo Asian Restaurant

This is not the cheapest option to get dinner in Dublin, but it's worth it. On the ground floor they have the famous large cooking spaces where the cook prepares the food in front of his guests (Teppan tables), and there is another large restaurant section down the stairs. It is beautifully decorated and, though not being in the centre, surprisingly well-visited.

    Mon-Fri 12.30-3.00, 6-11.30pm. Sat 5.30-midnight. Sun 3.00-10pm

Favorite Dish: We shared a mixed japanese starter with sushi, tempura and some marinated meat, it was delicious. After that I had chicken Szechuan style, a little spicy but not too hot.
    Can really recommend it!

Eddie Rocket's: American Fastfood in the style of the 50s
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]
  • Satisfaction:
  • Restaurant Name: Eddie Rocket's

This fastfood restaurant is decorated in the style of the 50s - with red leather sofas and a jukebox over every table, playing songs from the 50s and 60s. In expensive Dublin, the prices are affordable but still not what I would call a bargain. They are open til late in the evening, but be careful, they charge a 10% extra after midnight due to insurance reasons!

Favorite Dish: I had the chicken burger and some fries, which was quite good. Stay away from the tuna sandwich though, it is far too expensive for the small piece of bread you get.

Oh this is great Ines, the hotel seems like good value. However paying to go into a church I do not agree with, making a donation yes, but charging is a definite no no in my book. Some good informative updates here
