The cultural mixture in Singapore is quite interesting: Chinese, Malay, Indian, Arab and western expatriates all live together in one of the cleanest cities in the world. Even the tap water in Singapore is potable, and a single woman can wander around at night without fear of being mugged or worse. To some people Singapore might appear a bit artificial, and it is true that people in Singapore - whether resident or tourist - are strictly controlled, but it is nevertheless the perfect place for a normal tourist as the living standard is very high, there aren't many cars on the streets due to the horrendous license prices, everywhere are trees and flowers and shopping is just great! |
