Sunset At Chidiya Tapu

Chidiya Tapu is the Southern most tip of the island. The place is about 26 kms from Port Blair. They journey is thru' dense forest , where during daytime sunray is not visible while travelling ( see video). The lush green mangroves, forest cover with numerous chirping birds and the Sylvan Sands and Munda Pahar beaches make it ideal picnic or camping site. One can witness breath taking Sunset here.

We could see the breathtaking Sunset at this place, but the clouds ( It is August, monsoon time here) played spoil sport for great photography! Even then I could take many pictures which continues to tip no II.

Please see the pictures in seriatim.

Fish from boat - Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands

Fish from boat

Visit to North Bay Island for Snorkelling

We went to North Bay island for snorkelling. The place is at the foothills of Mount Harriet. You need to travel to this place by boat from Port Blair, it takes about an hour to reach there. The boat is parked little away( about 1/2 mile) from the beach as the water is shallow there. Then they carry you in a glass bottom boat to the shore. Expert swimmers are avilable with snorkelling gear and they also provide a lifebuoy to help you to keep afloat. Fee is Rs.300/- to Rs700/-( USD$ 6- 16) depending upon how much deep he takes to to show corals and sea animals. We could see many corals, various types and lot of fishes and small sea creatures. I think I went about 75meters from the shore, with the swimmer.

It was great fun.

Corbyn's Cove Beach - Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands
Corbyn's Cove Beach

Corbyn's Cove, is about 7 kms away from the city of Port Blair. It is small but very clean beach and safe for swimming and sun basking. It is situated just opp Peerless Sarovar hotel and having facility of changing. Historical remains like Japanese bunkers are near by.

We reached this place near evening so we had to sikp the Japanese Bunkers. But the place is really beautiful.
