Hurghada's Grand Hotel and other Egypt Hotel/Accommodation Reviews

This is a 4 Star Hotel and we were more than pleased with it. The grounds are absolutely beautiful; acres of Palm Trees; flowers, etc. The beach is gorgeous and clean. Rows and rows of loungers; also water slides for kids; 3 pools; large playground with 2 trampolines; all walkways were made of marble.

Unique Qualities: Towels are provided when you go to the beach or pool. There are also lifeguards on the beach. The restaurants are all buffet style with a different theme each night. We had the half pension which was quite adequate. The restaurants are all very nice. There is only one where you can eat outside; this was nice to do early in the mornings.

There are also small shops within the resort where you can shop to buy souvenirs; snacks, etc. Safety deposit boxes are also available thru the main desk (these are free of charge).

All resorts are private and have security at the front doors. Locals were not a problem within the resort area.

At every resort, there are security guards everywhere you look. This is a photo of just one at the entrance to our hotel. There were about 4 standing outside the front doors. They keep the locals out. Also, this hotel shares it facilities (beach/pools/ etc) with the hotel across the street; The Grand Plaza Resort. Both hotels are very nice.

I know when we go back in Dec/Jan, we will stay at the same hotel.

Unique Qualities: Above anything else, the grounds at our hotel were well-kept and very clean. You see men working around the clock watering the Palm trees (that's right, they water the trees by hand with a simple garden hose). Also, they are constantly sweeping the marble walkways and polishing the step railings. And they get paid next to nothing.

The grounds at The Grand Hotel are beautiful. You will see many palm trees; flowers; etc. Just walking around here is a treat. You will also see many tourists photographing the different trees as many of them are covered in flowers.
