Turkey was interesting. I was there during a religious holiday. The weather was very warm; the beaches beautiful; the waves incredible. There were many markets to shop at; everything was inexpensive.

Pros and Cons

Pros:Nice Beaches; People friendly; shopping inexpensive
Cons:Men were very aggressive towards Western Women
In a nutshell:A learning experience for sure

Cindy, I accepted Turkish approach to women and way of shopping (bargaining) step by step... I loved Turkey and I met 99,9% very sympathetic locals, add weather, nature and impressive ruins (better than in say Greece).

I found when hussled to buy something just talk to sellers in any country with words they would not understand and keep talking...

Hi Cynthia, My husband and I loved Turkey but when they hassle you, you must not make eye contact and keep saying NO, it is difficult if you are not used to being rude. My husband found it a little awkward but I was really firm and it worked !
