Growing up in Nottinghamshire, Southwell was a place that we visited as a family over the years, sometimes calling into the Minster, sometimes going for morning coffee or lunch at The Saracens Head.

These were the years when looking around churches etc. was "Booooring"! I'd never imagined that nowadays, I would really enjoy spending time marveling at the architecture etc of these ancient buildings.



Recently, I got the chance to see a bit of Southwell Minster, when I attended a concert there. I was hoping to get to Southwell early enough for a good look around the town, but just made it in time for the concert. It was one of those rare hot sunny evenings, which made the Minster and Southwell look particularly Attractive

It's a town that I need to return to for a good nose around.
