I've visited Datca twice now as a day trip from Symi.
As a Turkophile, this was a chance for me to put my feet on Turkish soil again!
I quite like Datca, It's unpretentious, a working town / harbour, with less hassle than in the resorts. I especially enjoyed visiting the market for its atmosphere, and there are bargains to be had! My other favourite place is the Turkish Bath, which I've visited twice.
Please see my Symi must see tips for more info about my trips to Datca.
To be continued....
- Pros:A working town! Not a typical tourist spot.very little hassle
- In a nutshell:Turkish town/harbour that links Greece & Turkey

getting some inspiration here as usual!
Thank you for your kind and true information about my home country.
We are going to stay on both Rhodes and Symi, Datca certainly looks relaxing for a day trip and the market sounds good!
Datca is a lovely place! I spent too little time there, only one full day and than I was on a boatrip most of the time. Hope to see more of your photos soon!
Thanks Sue, I'll give this some thought...but why not scan those b&w for us?
Merhaba. So right about those wanting their food when abroad! Looking forward to your turk photos. Marmaris this year was a lot different than in -96! Got my scanner 2 weeks ago, Ruffen
Shukran (thank you) for sharing with me your pages... I hope to see more of them soon. Turkish coffee is the best... Best wishes to you, Richelle
Good point about brits only wanting english stuff in Turkey! Why don't they stay at home! I've found a great place near the black see called Pinarbasi...
