The Cat and Fiddle

The A537 Buxton to Macclesfield Road, is also known as the Cat and Fiddle Pass , or The Cat and Fiddle. Named after the Public House, which sits 1690 feet above sea level, and having the honour of being the second highest Inn in Britain.

The Cat and Fiddle is situated in East Cheshire, and is contained in the Peak District.

This area offers some stunning walks, and the road itself is popular with Motor cyclists who tear up and down, especially during summer weekends.

Pros and Cons
  • Pros:Stunning views from the summit.
  • Cons:Can be cut off in Winter
  • In a nutshell:Some good walking routes from here, plus interesting towns to visit such as Macclesfield and Buxton.
