Booked through Manos travel, Friendly staff, clean hotel, quite basic rooms- bed , cupboard/wardrobe space (provide your own padlock) dressing table, shower/toilet.
1 socket, candle and matches provided in case of (regular) power cut. small balcony overlooking coconut grove. fan..not air conditioned. Shared terrace overlooking courtyard.
about 200metres from Lighthouse Beach.
Breakfast was fresh pineapple juice /toast/ jam tea or coffee and daily english language newspapers.
Often woken early by dawn chorus...flocks of crows, crowing very loudly from 4 am onwards, then joining you for breakfast! They do sometimes help themselves to your toast! so handy to have your rolled daily newspaper to hand!
Unique Qualities: Friendly /helpful staff, easy access to beach/ restaurants etc. view of sea from upper landing.
Some noise to be heard from nearby beach bars/hotels, but most noise finishes around mid night, or before
A good basic hotel if You want a budget break with a bit more comfort than a hostal

Well the paste that was applied to your forehead must be sandal wood paste. It is believed to have medicinal properties and gives an instant cooling effect. And 'protecting hindus from tourists' well thats absolutely wrong info. | mikkie50 Wed Nov 5, 2008 21:40 UTC
