ATHENS After the drive along the coast and up Syngrou Ave (See Homepage), I arrived at my hotel the Atheneum Intercontinental. Later, I had dinner in the cafe. I had dinner early so, I could drive up to town later. The cafe was pricey but, the food was excellent. I had an appetizer of Greek meatballs and then a nice Souvflaki. The meal had nice Greek breads and many different types of olives. Afterwards, I had some Greek coffee and dessert. |
Ancient City After breakfast the next day (In the same cafe), I took a bus tour of the ancient city. The previous evening I made arrangements at the hotel desk for the tour and a bus picked me up right after breakfast. The first stop was the Roman baths. Although, there were several buildings and other interesting places that were pointed out along the way and were included in the tour. The Roman baths is not a "must see attraction" but, it is historical nontheless. After the Roman Baths, the tour continued to the Acropolis. This is a "must see". |
Acropolis At the Acropolis you will find the Parthenon. A very large structure with great columns. This is a great historical monument. Probably one of the most fascinating sites in Athens. |
