Squinting rey Jaume 1: doesn't he look sharp?
Teatro-museu Dali is definately a must see when you're around in Catalunya. You can take the train from Barcelona to Figueres. It takes you about 1,5 hour by train.
Teatro-museu Dali is so much more than a museum. Can you think of any museum where you can actually walk on a camel, look through a loop and see the image of Mae West? In Teatro-museu Dali you can. The building is wonderful and the paintings and scupltures are marvellous.
Besides the museum there is nothing much to do in Figurueres.
It can be quite crowded in the museum. I heard that it´s the second most visited museum in Spain (after the Prado in Madrid).
Oh, you might wonder why I putted a picture of this statue by my Figueres tip. That´s because this statue stands in Figueres in a little park and it SQUINTS terribly!! We had a great laugh. The first time I went there I thought we saw it wrong because we drank too much Catalan Rose, but the second time I took this picture to prove it: he actually squints. That´s the story behind the picture, fascinating huh? ;-P
Directions: Just follow the signs in the city center. (Or the groups with tourists all walking in the same direction, hopefully the good one ;-P)
Sagrada Familia
Wauw wauw wauw! I think everbody has seen this church on pictures, but the Sagrada right before your nose is something different than the church on a picture. This building is soooo impressive!!
The architecture is beautiful and innovative. Do take a look at the exposition which you can find in the church, it is really interesting. The story behind this church is amazing.
The stairs are very small and crowded. Please notice what direction you should take to go up and to go down. It is very annoying to find people who want to go down while everybody else is going up in a very small stair of 0,5 m. If you are afraid of heights or narrow spaces you shouldn't climb the stairs, but in any other case it is something you should really do. The view from the towers is awesome. You can see the sea and the characteristic streetpattern of Barcelona.
Address: Carrer de Mallorca 401

Ramblas
It's amazing to walk along the Ramblas. You will find little crocodiles, leguanas, ducks, spiders, snakes, rabbits etc etc in cages. I felt sorry for these animals but eitherway it's fun to see it.
Watch your belongings carefully but enjoy the vibrant atmosphere on the ramblas. Even at night I didn't feel uncomfortable.
All the streetartists attract a lot of people and the performances they give are hilarius and / or amazing.
Directions: You can't miss it, it's th? street of Barcelona, it goes form placa Catalunya to the harbour.
Parc Guell
I could spend weeks in this parc just relaxing. At every corner you find another surprise. The Gaudi buildings, the palmtrees, the Gaudi bench, the flowers, nice nice nice!
Don't go in the pink Gaudi house, it is stupid!! You will find there the handkerchiefs of Gaudi, the pocket bible of Gaudi and so on and so on. Absolutely not interesting at all.
Look for the little green parrots. I think they once escaped from the zoo. Now you will find them all across Barcelona.
Address: Nou de la Rambla, 3-5
Directions: Metro; line 3. Lesseps Station, then follow the street signs.

The harbour
The harbour is one of the newest parts of Barcelona. You can enjoy the seebreeze on a hot summerday.
You will find a huge shoppingcenter at the harbour. It seemed a little deserted to me.
Parc de la Ciutadella
It's nice to stroll around this parc. The fountain is nice and huge.
In the neighbourhood you will find the arc del triomf and a market.
Address: Avingudade del Marqu?s de l'Argentera
Directions: On the edge of Ribera district. Near Barri Gothic, Cathedral Seu and Port Vell.

Arc de Triomf
The arc was much smaller than I expected. I've seen arcs in other cities in Europe and this was the smallest. In the neighbourhood of the arc you will find a market. And parc de la ciutadella is very nearby.
Address: Passeig de Lluis Companys.
Directions: Barri Gotic Metro: Arc de Triomf.
Parc Guell
Most favourite parc on earth: Parc Guell!
Address: Nou de la Rambla, 3-5
Directions: Metro; line 3. Lesseps Station, then follow the street signs.

Gooses in the cathedral
Have you ever seen palmtrees, water and gooses in a church? In Barcelona you can go to the cathedral to see this! It's really funny to see the gooses walking around.
Address: Pla?a de la Seu
Directions: Barri Gotic. Metro: Lines 1 and 3 (Catalunya Station) and Lines 2 and 4 (Urquinaona Station.)

Gala
Look at the beautiful painting of Gala by Salvador Dali.
Notice the grave of Dali in the big hall. It is not easy to see, you must know where it is. People step on it not knowing they are actually on the grave of Dali.
In the souvenirshop of the museum you will find very nice Dali-things to buy.
Address: Placa Gala-Salvador Dali 5 Figueres
Directions: You can take the train from Barcelona.
The museum is easily to find when you just follow the directions in Figueres.
