The feeling you get by just walking around in Barcelona is undescribable. At her BCN-page Jennifer Chin says that the people have such an amazing lust for live. I completely agree with her.
Everybody is sooo friendly. One time a lady helped me to find our way (we were lost finding the Sagrada, I think it is quite an accomplishment when you can´t find the Sagrada...) in three languages: Spanish, English and French. Sooo friendly and helpful!
People appreciate it when you try to speak a little Spanish:
hi = hola (pronounce ola)
bye = adios
OK = vale (pronounce balle)
yes = si
no = no
good = bueno
I don´t know = no lo sé
I beg your pardon = perdone / disculpe
I don´t speak Spanish = no hablo (pronounce ablo) Espagnol
thanks = gracias
please (in a question) = por favor
please (when you give something) = aqui tiene(s)
can I ask you something? = puedo preguntar alguna?
a beer = una cerveca
red wine = vino tinto
white wine = vino blanco
rose wine = vino rosado
water = agua
coffee with lots of milk = cafe con leche
coffee with a milk = cafe cortado
coffee without milk = cafe solo
bread with ham = pan con jamón Serrano
bread with chocalate = pan con chocolate
- Pros:You don't have to go anywhere special, just walking around makes you happy and relaxed
- Cons:I haven't got a clue, barcelona stole my heart!
- In a nutshell:Barcelona is the nicest city I've ever been to
