I dont need to say anymore with regards to the chilling Auschwitz and Birkenau camps here in Oswiecim, What I will say is, I am used to building happy pages, this clearly isnt one of them, and was a particularly difficult page for me to build, without making the place seem like a disneyland style tourist attraction....it IS NOT...its a place to go and pay your respects to the unfortunate victims, its a place to be able to shed tears, appreciate YOUR life and pray to whatever god if any that you believe in that what happened here will never happen anywhere ever again.

I could not locate my tips here into must see activities, its too big for a travelogue, so its gone under general tips, neither are my favourite things or are they fond memories...thats just the VT templating...not my text...

Remember What to Pack (1)

Loads of Tissues A decent guide to both camps. We bought this one in the Auschwitz visitor centre. more travel advice

These are the gas chambers at Auschwitz. There are lots of candles lit and wreaths for the dead.....gone from here... more travel advice

Must’ve been hard for you. this is definitely not a disneyland kinda page. but hey, travelling is not about being all happy cheery. it also means paying respect. thanks for sharing the tips ali

I was also in Oswiecim, and share your feelings about the camp. But I had to see this place - certain things need to be well understood and there's no place like this to better serve this purpose. mac
